All Things Merry & Bright / December 21, 2012

Four more sleeps ’till Christmas! I’m headed off for some time with family, friends and hopefully some snow (fingers crossed for that last one, nothing beats a White Christmas!), and I couldn’t be more excited for the holidays to finally be here – it really is such a magical and fun time of year where everything seems just that much brighter. Here’s wishing you all a wonderful holiday with those you love. Just hear those sleigh bells jingling, ring ting tingling too…

As Chandler Bing Says, Mini wave in celebration of me! / December 14, 2012

Great news on the blog today! It’s been in the works for a while, but I am so pleased to say that my work is now available through StockFood. I’m so excited to be able to share these images, and to keep updating with new work. It’s so exciting to see my work up on a site filled with so many photographers around the world and their beautiful images – it’ll keep me on my toes for sure, which is always a good thing. I hope Friends fans will get the subject line, it was the first thing that popped into my head when I set out to write this post — if not, I know my twin sister (and super-supportive blog reader!) will get it and laugh, which is good enough for me. That line makes me laugh every time the Thanksgiving football episode is on tv — if you haven’t seen it, stop what you are doing and go watch it, you won’t regret it. And yet again, another of my blog posts has taken a random turn. Anyway, hope you enjoy checking out my portfolio, if you so wish!

Start spreading the news… / December 7, 2012

Last weekend my two sisters, my mom and I went to New York City — it’s something we’ve wanted to do for ages, just a trip for us girls, and to be able to time it around the holidays made it even that much better. It was just a quick weekend trip, but we managed to pack in a lot of fun…so here goes — get ready for lots of holiday light pictures, people! Above was my favourite of all the store displays, outside of Macy’s. So magical. Here’s a quick rundown of the rest of the trip…

First off, the holiday displays inside the Waldorf Astoria are so pretty, it’s such a classy hotel (sidenote, if you get a chance to use their restrooms in the lobby, they are by far the prettiest public bathrooms that I have ever seen. You get your own sink and everything. And yes, yes, I did just take time to write about a public bathroom). And we’re moving on!

We also saw The Rockettes Christmas Spectacular, and it was definitely a highlight. We bought the tickets just because it’s something you can only do there at the holidays, so we figured why not, but it is so beautifully done.

Then it was off to see the Rockefeller Christmas Tree…along with the bajillions of other people who decided to do the same thing!

The next day kicked off with a little trip to the Guggenheim and the oh so pretty apartment building next to it…

Then we were off for a walk through Central Park, with an especially lovely tree…

And perhaps the best part of all, a vanilla cupcake from Magnolia Bakery. That place never disappoints. Never ever ever. Never.

Bye Bye New York, I’ll miss those pretty holiday tree lined streets of yours…
